The Revolution Academy (also referred to as the Academy) is an advanced recreational program that seeks to bridge the gap between Stafford Soccer’s Recreational division and Revolution Travel providing players an environment in which they can develop and hone their skills. The Revolution Academy strives to teach a greater understanding of the game of soccer, improve technical development, and to instill self-confidence in players who demonstrate the potential for development into the Travel program. This is accomplished through advanced skills training by certified and licensed volunteer coaches, dedicated professional training sessions throughout the season, competitive in-house gameplay, and a possible end-of-year tournament with other clubs.
While still a recreational program, the Revolution Academy is focused on providing a venue for players to develop their skills and become accomplished players able to move on to the Travel level. The Revolution Academy requires a larger commitment than recreational soccer on the part of the interested families, but the rewards are numerous in player development.
All players, including those who are on a current Academy team (2023 Spring) must register and attend tryouts. Teams remain together from Fall of one season to Spring of the next.

The Revolution Academy Division, requires acceptance based on a tryout, is more competitive and is considered to be a developmental division to possibly prepare players for the Travel division, if selected, and wish to join. Coaches are required to hold a coaching license. Games are typically played on Saturdays with some gameplay taking place during the week in the evenings. There are no more than 3 sanctioned events per week. Teams are formed based on player skill and ability to have more equally balanced teams. Teams ARE NOT formed by geographic location. If you need to practice near your home, please register for Recreation. Specific practice fields and times are released by the county, scheduled by the field’s coordinator and selected by the coach. You will not know where/when practice is held until just before the season begins and it can be at any Stafford County Parks and Rec field.
