The U6 Player

The U6 player will focus on themself. With a ’Me’ and ’Mine’ attitude. Activities which involve one ball, one player are encouraged to develope the overall learning process.  

About The players
Movements (running, jumping, skipping) and maintaining balance are not fully developed
Everything is done at full speed
Can only perform one task at a time
Find it difficult to share
Have a short attention span

 What to think about When coaching the U6 player
Give brief directions. Keep it simple
Lots of activities/games
One ball, one player
No elimination game
Do NOT work on heading

What to work on
Coordination
Balance
Movement with the ball
kicking
Having fun!
