Our Club is committed to improving the technical ability of all players in SASA with a goal of:
  1. Player development

  2. Fun & Friendly Environment

  3. Our teams to be competitive at the highest levels

Travel soccer demands a lot of time and dedication from both players and parents. We understand and respect the fact that parents have a lot of factors to take into consideration before their children play travel soccer. We also understand that players have other commitments and reasons why they do not or cannot play travel soccer.

While winning is important; development, sportsmanship and Fair Play must prevail.

Travel Coaching Program
U7 – U19 Player Development Objectives

Player development is essential to the long-term growth and improvement of the player and, thus, must be the central focus to all decisions regarding training and competition.
While each coach may have different ideas and methods that are unique to his or her own coaching style, every coach must understand that the number one priority is the development of the technically and tactically sound player.

To that end, SASA has established a progressive program to develop players through every age group. This program is not designed to emphasize winning matches for short term gain; rather, it is designed to provide a positive and challenging experience for players with a focus on their long-term development. No matter the style of coaching or age of the players, our coaches must ensure that the following objectives are met:

  • Training sessions are positive, productive, and enjoyable for the players.
  • Training sessions are designed to improve a player’s technical abilities and their tactical application.
  • Games and activities are designed to maximize the number of touches each player gets on the ball.
  • Competition is factored into training sessions in a way that encourages, motivates, and challenges players to improve.
  • Coaches understand their role within player development, providing positive influence, recognizing the varying characteristics and needs of players, serving as facilitator, and being a positive role model to players and the game itself.
  • Players continue to develop a love, respect, and appreciation for the game, teammates, opponents, referees, and coaches.

SASA understands the great responsibility that the club, coaches, and parents have in allowing players the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the game of soccer. The club will continually assess its program to maximize opportunities and ensure all objectives are met.

Congratulations to SASA's Tournament Champions 2011-12
