Healthy Athlete Series- Great Feet/Big Heart Feb 28th 7pm

Stafford Soccer continues it’s Healthy Athlete Series with two specialists talking about two not very high profile subjects. All soccer players need great feet to continue playing whether it is playing for fun or in a competitive venue. How do you keep Great Feet? What about that little twinge in your foot when you pivot? Should you be concerned? Let Dr. Corrine Creech give you the answers to the burning questions about your players’ feet!

The other thing all soccer players have is a Big Heart! Dr. Seyi Bolorunduro, Interventional Cardiologist will be addressing heart health at any age. Most of our young players feel they are invincible, but taking steps now to start and continue a heart healthy regime will keep your player in top condition for life.

Both Dr. Creech and Dr. Bolo are soccer players. See what both Doc’s say about their time in soccer.

Dr. Bolo – Soccer Vitae

Hi guys, so Ms. Stephanie asked that I write my soccer story and I thought about this for a long time and decided to show you what an informal life of soccer was like.

For a kid born in Nigeria, soccer (or football as other countries call it) is not a sport, it is life.
You are born literally with a ball in your legs.
You didn’t get a lot of toys growing up, so you grab a ball and play with your siblings all day.
You didn't grow up with video games, so you spend all the time playing soccer outdoors with friends.
You didn’t need a jersey or cleats, you play in whatever clothes you wore to school.
You didn’t need a stadium with goal posts and nets, all you needed was stones to erect pillars as posts.
You played soccer every day of the holidays and not only on weekends.
There was only 1 sport, 1 pastime, 1 life and it was soccer.

Dr. Creech – Soccer Vitae

As far as my playing days goes, I was voted into the “High school sports report” top 30 female high school players  my junior and senior year. The High school sports support was a state supported newsletter discussing high school sports in recruiting.

I played competitive travel league soccer from seventh grade on. I also played in the South Carolina Olympic development program or ODP during my middle school and high school days.

I played at the University of South Carolina for 4 Years.

I was also an SEC academic honor roll recipient for all 4 Years I was there. You can do both!!

Please join us to welcome Dr. Creech and Dr. Bolo into our Stafford Soccer family on Wednesday February 28th @ 7pm. The seminar will take place at Stafford Hospital Education Center on the lower level of the hospital. Please CLICK HERE to RSVP.
