Revolution Academy Balanced Teams

Unlike the Recreational Division, Revolution Academy teams are balanced based upon player rating as determined through tryouts and by player age, rather than geographical location.  Because of this, players will be placed on teams that may hold their practices anywhere throughout Stafford County.  Please make sure that you are able to make the commitment to get your players to practices even if they are at fields which may be several miles from your residence.

Please understand that there is absolutely no guarantee that your child will be placed on a team that practices at any particular field or time.

Our coaches are all volunteers and they choose which fields and times work best for them.

Revolution Academy U-7 & U-8 program

Parents,

With the announcement of the Revolution Academy for the fall 2011 season, SASA announces the Revolution Academy U-7 & U-8 program. The Revolution Academy is dedicated to the improvement and development of players toward Revolution Travel. The previous try-out based U-8 team program comprised of both U-7 and U-8 players will be replaced by the Revolution Academy U-7 & U-8 programs. Please note, the SASA Recreation Division U8 team program will stay the same and continue to be offered.

Revolution Academy will split the age group into age-specific groups, resulting in skills training development focused U7 and U8 groups.
For the fall 2011 season:
·        U7 are players born between 8/1/2004 - 7/31/2005
·        U8 are players born between 8/1/2003 - 7/31/2004

Acceptance into the program does not require tryouts with registration being offered on a first come, first served basis.
·        The U8 program will be open to the first 40 boys and 40 girls, totaling 80 players.
·        The U7 program will be open to the first 20 boys and 20 girls.

THE PROGRAM FOCUS IS PLAYER DEVELOPMENT and aimed at kids who show a passion to play, skills to move to the next level, and willingness to learn. Players CAN NOT sign-up for both Revolution Academy & Recreation.

The Revolution Academy will replace the Classic Division
The Stafford Area Soccer Association (SASA) is proud to announce starting Fall of 2011 the inaugural season of the Revolution Academy

The Revolution Academy will replace the Classic Division expanding upon the mission focus of player and coaching development.

The Revolution Academy is an advanced recreational program that seeks to bridge the gap between SASA’s Recreational division and Revolution Travel providing players an environment in which they can develop and hone their skills.  The Revolution Academy strives to teach a greater understanding of the game of soccer, improve technical development, and to instill self-confidence in players who demonstrate the potential for development to Revolution Travel. This is accomplished through advanced skills training by certified and licensed coaches, dedicated professional training sessions, competitive in house game play, and end of year tournament play with other clubs.

The Revolution Academy will consist of the following age programs:

U-7 Academy style development program
U-8 Academy style development program
U-10 Development Team Program
U-12 Development Team Program
U-14 Development Team Program

The U-7 and U-8 programs are limited in number and available by sign up process. There will be no try-outs for the U-7 and U-8 programs. Additionally, the current U-8 Academy program will still be offered as a separate enhanced development program and will become the SASA U-8 Skills Clinics. Players may sign up for the SASA U-8 Skills Clinics separately.

The U-10, U-12, & U-14 Development Team Programs will select players through a try-out process.

U-10, U-12, and U-14 Development Team Program players will attend multiple enhanced Professional Training Sessions lead by experienced licensed coaches that will focus on technical skills demonstration integrated with small sided game play while offering coaching development as well.

While still a recreational program, the Revolution Academy is focused on providing a venue for players to develop their skills and become accomplished players able to move on to Revolution Travel. The Revolution Academy requires a larger commitment than recreational soccer on the part of the interested families, but the rewards are numerous in player development.

If your child is seeking to develop to the next level and grow in a life long love of soccer, Revolution Academy is for you.
